Since she was four years old, Maria Serrato has lived in Georgia, mostly in or near the Atlanta area. She and her parents moved from La Piedad, Mexico, when her father’s work brought them to the United States. As an immigrant, she understands firsthand what many of Antonini & Cohen’s clients are going through, and she’s passionate about supporting this community.
At Georgia Southern, Maria graduated with degrees in both Spanish and International Studies. She put these skills to use, working as a freelance medical interpreter as well as a legal assistant with another immigration attorney.
Maria enjoys working with the clients at Antonini & Cohen. “I love seeing that they are happy with the service we are providing,” she says. “One of my favorite moments is when I’m able to present someone with their green card or another permit. It’s an emotional experience – one that I relish every time!”
When she’s not at the office, Maria has many hobbies. She enjoys researching history – especially conspiracies – as well as traveling, hanging out with friends, and working out at the gym. And, if you’re looking for a great taco, she highly recommends Atlanta’s La Pastorcita on Buford Highway.
