Antonini & Cohen Announces New Partner Nisha Karnani

U Visas provide certain immigrant crime victims and eligible family members with legal status, a work permit, and the possibility of a greencard.

Atlanta, GA (PRWeb) January 15, 2015 – Antonini & Cohen Immigration Law Group is pleased to announce that Nisha K. Karnani is now a partner at the firm. While Ms. Karnani has extensive experience in all aspects of immigration law, she is most noted for her family and employment immigration work, and has established long-standing relationships supporting a number of Atlanta-based corporations with their immigration law needs. Ms. Karnani is also considered an authority on immigration status for victims of domestic violence and other crimes.

In her expanded leadership role, Ms. Karnani will manage the firm’s Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA) program created to support those who qualify for President Obama’s November 2014 executive actions on immigration. She will also help oversee Antonini & Cohen’s office operations, business development and community outreach efforts.

Ms. Karnani is active in the Atlanta community, providing legal and immigration assistance to victims of domestic violence through her involvement in organizations such as Raksha, a nonprofit that supports the South Asian community. She is also one of the founding members of the South Asian Bar Association of Georgia (SABA-GA) and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Ms. Karnani has received a number of honors and awards, including Acquisition International’s Immigration Attorney of the Year – Georgia, the Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service awarded by the State Bar of Georgia, and the Raksha Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Legal Services. Ms. Karnani has also been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star and named to Lawyers of Color’s Hot List.
