Current Status of Haitian TPS
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) previously attempted to end Haiti’s TPS designation, setting a termination date of September 2, 2025.
Immigration advocates immediately challenged this decision, and a federal court judge in New York ruled that DHS had improperly terminated TPS for Haitians. As a result, the termination date reverted to February 3, 2026, providing temporary relief for thousands of Haitian nationals currently protected under the program.
