Angie Antonini is a senior paralegal with Antonini & Cohen. She grew up in La Victoria, Venezuela, a small town an hour from Caracas, the capital. Born to an American mother and Venezuelan father, she traveled to the United States every summer to visit family and enjoy the beach and mountains. Angie’s family made Atlanta their permanent home in 1976, where she finished high school and began studies in Fashion Design at the Atlanta College of Arts.
Angie worked in New York for Manolo Couture as a designer and milliner making hats for a well-known brand such as Donna Karan, Isaac Mizrahi, Anne Klein and the Broadway show “Black and Blue” and Ready to Wear Couture in 1990 ’s. Angie never quite found the job fulfillment she was looking for in fashion, so she returned to Atlanta and worked for Gardella Studios, where she discovered her love of painting and moved to New Orleans to seek a painting degree at UNO.
Angie’s immigration law career began back in Atlanta as a fill-in receptionist for Marshall Cohen’s law office in 1998. After a short stint managing retail operations for St. Vincent de Paul, she returned to immigration law. A temporary position with Carolina Antonini in 2002 (her sister) became her mission in life.
“There are so many opportunities to help people here,” Angie commented. She loves seeing immigrants achieve the American Dream. “When someone goes from earning a low wage to owning their own business—well, there’s just no better feeling!”
When she’s not at Antonini & Cohen, Angie loves spending time with her daughter and their dog, Sunny Pi. She has a variety of hobbies, from forex trading to painting, sewing, and crafting! You might run into her enjoying a delicious meal at one of her favorite restaurants – Café Sunflower, Soto Soto, El Rey del Taco (fun at Halloween!), or Floataway Café.
Angie says she loves working at Antonini and Cohen, “Everyone here wants to serve and make a difference in the world”.
